Well it has been a while since anything on Lead Love Unite has changed due to taking some time off to welcome to our family our beautiful little daughter. She is five months old now and an absolutely amazing little girl. Our whole lives have changed and in every aspect they have been impacted by two little blue eyes. It has been a fun journey for Kelly and I!

The new year has started and with that comes the list of things we want to work on or change going into the new year. For me this journey has been a little different this year as I was challenged to take a new approach to the year end evaluation process and the vision setting for 2016.

I was challenged by a friend to come up with a word that would define my year. He has done it the last couple of years and it has really had a huge impact on him. I thought, sure I will give it a try. I spent some time praying and asking the Lord what the word should be and I settled on one I would not have picked on my own.

Discipline.

I was terrified and excited when I realized that this was going to be my word for 2016. I have begun to make a list and create vision for how this idea is going to help me grow and change in the new year.

As I began the year I realized that discipline really is a vital part of our journey as disciples and leaders. Without discipline good talent never become great talent, without discipline a few dollars never become millions, without discipline what feels good will rob us of what we are called to do.

I would challenge you to find your word. Pray about it. Write it down. Commit to the process of spending a year adjusting and incorporating one thing into your life and watch how every area is changed.
