I recently spoke at the Men's ministry of The Rock Church and shared a message that may seem a little weird coming from me.
The message was about fathering and family. I have been learning a lot about this idea over the last few years and the value that God places on family in the Kingdom of Heaven.
The more that I spend time reading the Bible and the more time I spend with the Lord the more that I realize that Heaven and the Kingdom of Heaven move through Family.
“People who expect to find their destiny while being motherless, fatherless, brother less, and sister less, have got it all wrong and are trying the world’s ways to find their kingdom given purpose.”
You can listen to the message right here:
Some of you are wondering what does this guy with no kids know about fathering?
Well one of the things that I have learned is that the position of Dad comes by having biological children, but the title and authority of a father is something that can be given to someone in the Kingdom.
I shared this message from the perspective of being a spiritual father, I have sons and daughters under me that God has entrusted to me to raise up and disciple, and I am a son being fathered spiritually by others.
I struggle with identifying myself as a spiritual father I always downplay it and don't think of myself that way and The Lord spoke to me the other night and he said "Hell will always try for you to get your identity and authority from what the world qualifies, heaven is about operating out of the identity and authority you were designed to posses."
I had a lot of fun talking with these incredible men of God about one of the things that I believe that God is desiring to do in the local church, which is restoring relationships between Fathers and their children, both biological and spiritual.
If you have some time I would love for you to listen and let me know your thoughts!
