JD was born in a small town to incredible parents. He grew up with a dad who was a youth pastor and saw the beauty and messiness of the local church. JD was always a part of a local church. He attended and served in several different churches and denominations in his hometown through his junior high and high school days, even through his freshmen year in college.

After finishing his first year of college JD began to wrestle with what he was doing with his life. There is no greater place to wrestle with God than in the mountains, so JD packed his bags. He attended an internship at New Life Church in Colorado Springs from 2007-2008 called Twenty-Four Seven Leadership Academy and attended his second year through Desperation Leadership Academy. It was here that JD met his wife, Kelly, who has been his best friend ever since.

It was also during this internship that JD wrote out a set of core values that would soon begin to define the way he lived and dreamed. Those core values, Lead Love Unite, made up a simple phrase that continues to steer every major decision that JD makes.

After finishing their internship JD and Kelly got married and spent some time working at a summer camp in New Mexico before moving back to their favorite place, Colorado.

JD went on staff at The Rock Church in Castle Rock, Colorado in October of 2010 and jumped right into an incredible tribe and move of God.

JD went back to school online and graduated with his Bachelors degree in Biblical Studies from Liberty University in 2012. He still feels like he has no clue whats going on.

JD and his wife Kelly were the fearless leaders of The Grove, the college and young adults ministry of The Rock, from December 2010 until December 2014. What started as a small gathering of six people in a small room rapidly exploded into a service each week full of people, biblical truth, and authentic community.

JD and his wife moved to Lubbock, TX in January of 2015 to join the staff of Trinity Church.

JD started as the Generations Pastor overseeing birth through 35, helping to mobilize the young generation to pursue Jesus all the days of their lives.

In August of 2015 JD and Kelly welcomed their first born, a beautiful little girl, into their lives.

In October of 2016 JD moved into the role of Senior Associate Pastor of Ministries and began overseeing all of the ministry endeavors of Trinity Church. As a member of the Senior Leadership Team JD helps to fulfill the mission, vision, values through every aspect of Trinity.

JD has a contagious passion for seeing generations come together to glorify the Kingdom of God and will stop at nothing to change the world through prayer, teaching, and discipleship.

JD's passion is helping equip his generation with the tools needed to change the world through the way they lead, the way they love, and the way they unite around the Kingdom of Heaven and the character of God. He believes that the world and all of heaven are waiting for a generation that loves Jesus to lead, love, and unite.
